Park Place Motors Rich Media Ads

This is another project I did at Metric Interactive for Park Place Motors. These rich media ad were designed by another company, and I did the coding for them. They were my first stab at rich media ads. Not as interactive and expressive as I would have liked, but they were fun to work on.

This is a project I did at Metric Interactive for Radio Shack. I coded a homepage take over ad as well as the landing page. The landing page offered a 360 view of the aspire one as well as a video of the product. Coded in AS3 the page and the video player are all custom code.

jQuery & JavaScript

More and more jQuery. Even though I spend a good portion of the day coding in Flash, I am more interested in what can be accomplished with JavaScript without resorting to Flash.

XHTML & CSS

I can wait until all browsers support CSS3, but untill then we’ll settle for the browsers running WebKit.

PHP

I wish I could run the world on PHP!

WordPress

Great WordPress tutorials here. Most of these I already use, but I always read a new tutorial to see if I could be doing it better.

Design

These tutorials and resources make me want to create my own font for the Star Wars universe!

Misc

More geeky stuff I’m looking at. Matt Brett’s review of Dead Space, some pointers for Flash alpha channel in video, regular expressions, a little competition I’m in, and the new MetricInteractive.com.

I have been geekn’ out a lot lately reading some really great articles as well as learning some new techniques. There is a little bit of everything here and if you are a web developer it will come in handy. If you are not into jQuery skip this first section, as I have been really digging into what can be done in jQuery. jQuery & JavaScript

If you couldn’t tell, I love working with jQuery. Here is a brief list of some plug ins, some tutorials, and some techniques I found very interesting.

I started diving more into PHP due to the amount of websites I have deployed using WordPress. Since I typically use WordPress as a CMS, PHP is an integral part of making everything work. Check these out.

I heart WordPress, and can’t wait till version 2.7 is released. Here are some great plug ins as well as some techniques to use when creating a WordPress theme for yourself and others.

Flash & Fireworks

Photoshop is a dominate force in design. I love it and use it for all my Photography work, but when it comes to web design, I find Fireworks to be better suited. Whenever I find a tutorial for Fireworks I always read it. Check out the firetut below, as well as some flash tuts I’ve check out lately.
