Just wanted to show you a little MedFactory marketing I’ve been working on. First of an announcement email for MedFactory. This is where we explain all of our services as well as show off our different packages. I had a lot of fun creating the banner that goes across the screenshot of the website. I hope you can see the detail I added to it. I aslo made a quick wallpaper for MedFactory. These are always fun to have if your working for MedFactory, but hopefully others will like the service enough to make it their desktop as well.

I helped out my good friend Kate Mefford with a couple of logos for her photo gallery show and reception. The Mokah Gallery inside Life in Deep Ellum was hosting Kate’s killer gallery show entitled “Feel the Love: The Little Big Men of Vivero Boxing Gym”. It was a great reception and Kate’s pictures turned out amazing as usual. She actually found old gym lockers and boxing equipment on display at the show as well. For the logos, we went for a vintage sports look. She absolutely loved it and had the logos printed on T-shirts and sport towels.

The Top Ten Countdown is a project of the highly popular HTGuys home theater podcast. The HTGuys wanted the site to have a futuristic look and feel, and well as display videos in a unique way. We accomplished both. The space scene I made in Pixelmator and Fireworks. Pixelmator has some excellent lighting effects and fireworks is my go to for web development. The site is a SquareSpace site, which makes it really easy for the guys to manage. All in all, I love the design.

MedFactory is job-board dedicated to Healthcare Professionals. MedFactory provides the tools and resources for healthcare professionals to confidentially search for the right opportunity. Easily connect with Employers and other Healthcare Professionals. MedFactory launched and ultimately yielded the best Healthcare job board in the industry. What do you think of Version 1?

I had a blast working with Jenn and Sam from Egomedia photography. Egomedia photography is an award winning boutique wedding photojournalism studio located in the DC metro area. They are exceptional photojournalists and ever better people. This was a fun project. Not a design project by any means. I used their current to design and completely re-coded their entire backend to function they way it was intended. Of course I added some flair and surprises as we went along, but the goal was to let the photos be the main stage, not the design. They loved it! I’m now hosting 2 of their sites as well as still collaborating on future updates.

I made custom icons for each post type and defined the layout for certain post types. I know its more of a guys theme, but I think I’ll make another one that is meant for the ladies. I did this project at Metric Interactive for True.com. True wanted new sign up pages but they had to keep some of the site characteristics. I came up with several designs and actually one of these over took the best performer of all time. I was super excited about that.

It was time to spruce up the ol’ design. I think the colors are what play a huge roll in making these sites feel different, while still remaining connected. I used some browns in the current jcphotographydallas.com site and I really liked the way it turned out. However this site never really got finished so it never reached its full potential. I knew I wanted the browns to play a huge roll in the next design, so at least I had my base color. I chose blue and orange as my two colors for the site. They are all complementary and play really nice together. In fact the photography site uses both the colors very well.

I knew I wanted the sites to be more bold this time, but also didn’t need to go overboard. I mean I am running a business here. So unfortunately I knew I couldn’t grunge it out like I have been doing lately. However I did think the use of textures would take it away from being too simple, and add a bit more personality. I started playing with different textures and I realized I wanted to bring back the original ribbon design that I started with jcphotographydallas.com. The only difference was that this time I wanted it to actually resemble like a ribbon.

I have been figuring this out the more I go along, you’ll be surprised at how it’s the little things that really bring an overall concept home. Basically the design is in the details. As I started to add the textures and some decorative elements, I noticed that the site started to have a slight vintage feel. I was totally digging where this was heading, so I decided to add some vintage camera vectors to each site. I have also got a couple of elements on my package page that is right from a 1950’s advertisement. I added some nifty shadowing to the photos, as well as some florals here and there. All of these small details really helped finish the design.

In closing I really like the way these designs are turning out. I plan to finalize these design soon and start coding. Be sure to keep an eye out at jcprovideo.com and jcphotographydallas.com as I would like to roll these designs out very soon. I really welcome comments and suggestions as these designs are still being worked out, so do let me know what you think!
